ESPN To Offer Comprehensive College Football Coverage On Mobile Platforms

ESPN is giving college football fans more mobile content than ever this season, offering live games, highlight shows, breaking news, scores, information and more across a host of mobile properties including ESPN Mobile TV and ESPN MVP, both available exclusively from Verizon Wireless, and ESPN's industry-leading WAP site.

ESPN Mobile TV, ESPN's first 24/7 channel for wireless, kicks off college football season on August 30 with live simulcast coverage of LSU vs. Mississippi State, which airs on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET. Throughout the season, ESPN Mobile TV, available through V CAST Mobile TV, a service of by MediaFLO USA, Inc., will simulcast more than 75 live college football games from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360.com, as well as up to 20 college bowl games, including a tripleheader on December 31, and the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.

In addition to live game coverage, fans will have access to mobile programming such as highlight shows, scoreboard shows and game analysis by ESPN's college football experts.

"We're delivering our most comprehensive mobile coverage of college football ever to ensure fans don't miss a minute of the action this season," said John Zehr, senior vice president, digital media production, ESPN. "With live games, breaking news alerts, up-to-the-minute information and scores, ESPN's mobile platforms will cover all the action so that fans on the go don't have to miss the best touchdown catches, quarterback sacks and conference upsets of the season."

Additionally, ESPN MVP, available exclusively on V CAST VPak from Verizon Wireless, will deliver customizable content including breaking news alerts, up-to-the-minute scoring updates, highlights, exclusive segments and commentator analysis from College GameDay, College Football Live and SportsCenter. In addition, ESPN MVP users can customize their application to access their favorite team's news, notes and highlights.

ESPN's WAP site, which is available through all domestic mobile carriers, will provide scores, breaking news, rankings, schedules, conference standings, player and team information, and much more.
