LAKEWOOD, NJ — Verizon Wireless has promoted Courtney Kowal to manager of its retail location in Lakewood. Kowal will be responsible for customer service, retail sales, inventory, merchandising, and employee training for the store at 1900 Route 70 and Shorrock Street.

Kowal will also oversee the Lakewood location's HopeLine® wireless phone collection program. Proceeds are donated to domestic violence prevention advocacy groups or used to purchase wireless phones with free airtime for use by survivors. Phone donations are accepted during store business hours, Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

An employee of Verizon Wireless since March 2006, Kowal began as assistant manager of the company's retail store in Toms River (Hooper Avenue) before being promoted to manager. She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and resides in Matawan.
