ROCHESTER, NY — Sports fans looking for non-stop football coverage leading up to Sunday have a new way to satisfy their craving in the Rochester area. Verizon Wireless has expanded its V CAST Mobile TV service into Rochester, giving local residents the ability to watch broadcast-quality television on select mobile TV-enabled handsets. V CAST Mobile TV features live content and other programming 24 hours a day from well-known entertainment brands, including CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2GO, and Nickelodeon. Customers can watch their favorite network TV shows, soaps, sports, and breaking news when they're waiting at the airport or in the doctor's office, killing time between classes, or otherwise looking for time to fill in locations in and around Greater Rochester.
"V CAST Mobile TV is unlike any other mobile television service available right now," said Marquett Smith, president of Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York region. "It's real broadcast television with a range of channels and great shows to choose from. And you can watch them almost anywhere in the Rochester area. The service comes with parental control features so parents can monitor and restrict the programs their children view.
Monthly access packages range from $13 to $25 per month. Four V CAST Mobile TV-enabled phones are currently available: the all new Voyager by LG ($299.99), the Samsung SCH-u620 ($99.99), the LG VX9400 ($149.99), and the MOTORIZR Z6tv ($179.99).
