BELLEVUE, WA — Verizon Wireless will break new ground in wireless retail with the recent opening of its newest Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Renton, Wash. The store is the next evolution in the wireless retail experience, offering consumers hands-on interaction with wireless voice, data, music, and video services in a sleek, new full-service environment. The new store is located at 960 Park Avenue North, Renton.

About the store

  • Interactive "demo zone" guided by knowledgeable staff

  • Check-in kiosk enables customers to sign in on arrival and stay informed via monitors that track their place in the queue for service
  • Roomy and easy to locate technical assistance and customer support areas with interactive displays

"Our new 3,500 square-foot Renton store provides plenty of space for both shopping and customer service, in keeping with our commitment to deliver the best possible wireless experience," said Kelley Kurtzman, regional president of Verizon Wireless.

Verizon Wireless recently moved the industry forward with the introduction of new Nationwide Unlimited Anytime Minute Plans. The plans give customers all their calls — anytime to anyone in the U.S., including landline phones — at a flat rate for $99.99 monthly access. Plans that add unlimited e-mail and messaging for PDAs and smartphones are also available. In addition, BroadbandAccess Plans offer customers two choices for Internet browsing, e-mail access and downloading files. The new BroadbandAccess plans offer customers monthly data plan options of 50 Megabytes (MB) or 5 Gigabytes (GB) (5,120 MB).

Local residents are invited to stop in the new store and are encouraged to bring old cell phones and accessories they no longer use (from any wireless provider) for donation to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program. Through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and to donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to local shelters and non-profit organizations to aid survivors of domestic violence. Last year, Verizon Wireless awarded more than $165,000 in grants and wireless phones with airtime to domestic violence agencies throughout Washington.
