SALISBURY, NC — Verizon Wireless, the nation's most reliable network, recently increased wireless coverage in Salisbury and surrounding communities to improve service in the area. Verizon Wireless customers will immediately experience enhanced wireless coverage in the following areas:
- Along I-85 and Highway 29 between China Grove and Salisbury
- Along Miller Road from China Grove to Highway 150
- Along Webb Road from Highway 29 to Old Concord Road
The recent network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls, send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages, access the Internet and download games and ringtones while enjoying superior wireless coverage.
"We are excited to bring better service to this area and meet the needs of our growing customer base as we continue to optimize our network so that it remains the nation's most reliable network," said Jerry Fountain, president of the Carolinas/Tennessee region for Verizon Wireless. "Our expansion in Salisbury and throughout Rowan County is tied to our commitment to provide the best possible wireless experience for our customers as they choose and use our service."
In an industry first, Verizon Wireless is putting customers in the driver's seat to take the nation's most reliable* wireless voice and data network for a spin. Verizon Wireless is the only major carrier pledge that pays for calls if with a 30-day network Test Drive customer is not satisfied with Verizon Wireless and switches to another carrier.
Verizon Wireless builds its network for reliability during emergencies. For example, 100% percent of Verizon Wireless' cell sites in North Carolina are prepared for a natural disaster or other emergency, which includes back-up battery power at every site, generators at switching facilities and many cell sites, a fleet of mobile generators and cells on wheels.
The company has invested more than $44 billion in its wireless network over since the company was formed in 2000. Of that amount, more than $815 million has been invested in North Carolina, helping Verizon Wireless stay ahead of the growing demand for its services, like the new Nationwide Unlimited Anytime Minute calling plans, adding new capabilities like V CAST Mobile TV and improving and maintaining the network year-round in preparation for hurricanes and other natural disasters.
There is one store in the Salisbury area, located at the Salisbury Circuit City on 345 Faith Road. For more information about Test Drive from Verizon Wireless or any of our products and services, visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store, call 1-800-2 JOIN IN or go to www.verizonwireless.com.
