UTICA, NY — In response to growing demand for the company's voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new kiosk in the Center Court of Sangertown Square in New Hartford. The new kiosk employs six people and has been designed to make wireless shopping more convenient for new customers and to provide current customers with greater access to the full array of Verizon Wireless products and services.

Featuring the company's new "evolutionary" store design, the new kiosk offers consumers hands-on interaction with wireless voice, data, music and video services in a sleek, new full-service environment. It replaces the company's previous kiosk in the JC Penney wing. The new kiosk is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. — 9:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m. The telephone number is (315) 792-4828.

"The new store design focuses on giving our customers a hands-on experience with our products and services," said Mark Andrews, director of Communication Stores for Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York region. "Making it easy for customers to learn about and choose wireless capabilities is one more way we're working to ensure Verizon Wireless continues to lead the industry in customer loyalty."

Demand for Verizon Wirelesss services continues to grow as more people take advantage of the company's America's Choice® and FamilyShare price plans, new Nationwide Unlimited Anytime Minutes plans, and popular data services including BroadbandAccess wireless Internet access, music on demand and multimedia services, picture messaging, and two-way text messaging.

Nationwide the company has invested more than $45 billion since it was formed — $5.5 billion on average every year — to increase the coverage and capacity of its national wireless network and to add services like BroadbandAccess, V CAST, VZ Navigator(SM), and many more. V CAST brings TV and other multimedia services to wireless phones over Verizon Wireless' high-speed BroadbandAccess wireless network. Operating at average download speeds between 600 kilobits per second (kbps) up to 1.4 megabits per second (mbps), and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps, BroadbandAccess lets customers download a 1 Megabyte e-mail attachment — the equivalent of a small PowerPoint® presentation or a large PDF file — in about eight seconds and upload the same-sized file in less than 13 seconds.
