SAN FRANCISCO, CA, BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and LOS ANGELES, CA — From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008 in San Francisco, Verizon Wireless, builder and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, and G4, Comcast Entertainment Group’s multimedia destination that feeds young guys’ addiction for the latest technology, Web culture, animation and video games, today announced the launch of the G4 Channel on Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Video service.

The G4 Channel offers Verizon Wireless customers content that is relevant and authentic to young guys today, including segments from the network’s popular series “Attack of the Show” and “X-Play,” as well as Web originals from G4tv.com, such as the Webby Award-winning “Freestyle 101,” “Sessler’s Soapbox” and “Fresh Ink.” The G4 Channel is updated regularly with new content, including breaking news from the worlds of technology, gaming and geek culture, as well as event coverage from Comic-Con, E3, CES, Tokyo Game Show and more.

V CAST Video customers can already stay up-to-date with celebrity and entertainment news with Comcast Entertainment Group’s E! Channel, which includes “E! News Now,” the leading real-time online and mobile video news service. Additional programming includes clips from popular E! series, such as “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” “Girls Next Door,” “The Soup” and “Chelsea Lately,” as well as coverage from the network’s signature “Live From the Red Carpet” programming specials.

Verizon Wireless is committed to delivering a variety of V CAST Video programming to meet ongoing customer demand for news, sports, weather and entertainment while on-the-go. In the first half of 2008, Verizon Wireless customers downloaded more than 71 million video clips and songs from the company’s V CAST Video and Music services. With the addition of G4, Verizon Wireless is able to offer a broader line-up of content on V CAST Video to help satisfy the mobile cravings of Verizon Wireless customers.

Customers with select V CAST-enabled phones can check out V CAST whenever they want for just $3.00 for 24-hour use or by signing up for the $15.00 V CAST VPak monthly subscription, which also includes access to Verizon Wireless’ ESPN MVP, Get It Now® and Mobile Web services. Customers get unlimited basic video – including the G4 Channel – but application download fees may apply for 3D games and premium video. There are no airtime or megabyte charges to download, stream or watch V CAST content with any V CAST subscription.
