BLOOMINGTON, MN — Verizon Wireless announced today the opening of a new Communications Store at the Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington, bringing the latest products and services of the company that operates the nation's most reliable network closer to area consumers. The company has also filled nine new positions at the store.

The new 1,374-square-foot store is located at the east end of the MOA on the second level (E280) and showcases a new and highly interactive retail concept that is a departure from Verizon Wireless' traditional retail store design. The company also has a store on the third floor, west end (W365) that was remodeled in August.

The company's new store features an interactive design that allows customers to try wireless devices and experience on-demand access to short news, weather, sports and entertainment video clips and cutting-edge 3D games. Users can also experience Verizon Wireless' world-class, over-the-air mobile music, and desktop subscription music service — V CAST Music with Rhapsody. The store features accessories such as Bluetooth® headsets and stereo speakers and enables customers to view products and services on interactive television screens.

"This new store reflects our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience and an accessible and knowledgeable sales staff," said Nancy B. Clark, president — Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Consumer demand for our wireless service continues to grow as we launch new, more sophisticated services for our customers."

Mark Koopman has been named retail store manager for the new Verizon Wireless Communications Store at MOA. Koopman has been with Verizon Wireless for more than seven years and most recently served as manager of the Verizon Wireless Communications Store on Lake Street in Minneapolis.

The following employees also have been named to positions in the MOA store: Jonathan Cloer and Jessica Remington-Remes, assistant retail store managers; Adam Glover, Patrick Doherty, Tony Mordh and Austin Seaverson, retail sales representatives; and Justin Berg, Kevin Hyk and Ashley Mitchell, customer service representatives.

The store is one of 32 Verizon Wireless' company-owned Communications Stores and kiosks in Minnesota. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. — 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. — 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. — 7:30 p.m. For more information about the store, call (952) 853-0022. The store will celebrate its grand opening weekend Oct. 24-26.
