GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Verizon Wireless has activated five new cell sites that expand network coverage in Montcalm and Newaygo counties in Michigan, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make voice calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

The new cell sites improve Verizon Wireless' voice and data network coverage along Michigan Road 46 in Montcalm County east of U.S. Route 131 and west of U.S. Route 127 and in the following cities:

  • Belding
  • Big Rapids
  • Brunswick
  • Gowen
  • Grant
  • Greenville
  • Howard City

These new cell sites are part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Michigan and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $48 billion since it was formed-$5.5 billion on average every year-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. More than $1.8 billion of this investment has been spent in Michigan since 2000.
