Downtown San Diego, California Shoppers Get New Verizon Wireless Communications Store

IRVINE, CA — In response to the growing demand for the company’s voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless, the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, opened a new Communications Store in San Diego, Calif. located at 222 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101.

Located in Westgate Plaza in San Diego, the new store features 2,418 square feet of retail, technical support and customer service space to accommodate hands-on displays and a full-service environment. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m Saturday 10 a.m – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and the store phone number is 619-595-0511.

The store is staffed by knowledgeable wireless professionals who offer consumers a broad range of equipment and service options, including the sleek new touch-screen Blackberry Storm, equipped with VZ Navigator(SM), which provides audible turn-by-turn directions; and V CAST Music which allows customers to download full-songs directly to their phones and Microsoft® Windows® XP-based PCs.

Store Manager Luis Lopez is encouraging area residents to join the company in its efforts to help survivors of domestic violence by bringing no-longer-used wireless phones to the new store for donation to the company’s HopeLine® phone recycling program. HopeLine collects used cellphones to be recycled or sold and donates the proceeds in the form of cash grants and pre-paid wireless phones to advocacy groups for use by battered women. Verizon Wireless was the first wireless carrier in the nation to collect and recycle old cell phones, and has done so on behalf of survivors of domestic violence since January 1999.
