SAN DIEGO, CA; BASKING RIDGE, NJ; and SAN MATEO, CA — From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009®, Verizon Wireless announced today it is working with DeviceAnywhere™, the leader in mobile application testing and development solutions, to help build and grow the recently launched Verizon Developer Community (VDC). The VDC is the place for mobile developers to learn about all of Verizon's applications and programs, to submit applications for the soon-to-be launched V CAST Apps storefront, and to interact with Verizon experts and others in the mobile applications community.

To further enable the VDC, Verizon has teamed up with DeviceAnywhere to launch the Verizon Virtual Developer Lab (VDL) — a remote testing service designed to reduce the time and resources required to develop, test, monitor and deploy applications and content for Verizon Wireless handsets. Through DeviceAnywhere, developers now have instant remote access to more than 150 of Verizon Wireless' commercially available handsets, including popular devices such as the Samsung Rogue™, BlackBerry® Storm™ and the soon-to-be added LG enV® TOUCH.

Through using DeviceAnywhere's unique Direct-To-Device™ technology, Verizon Wireless' developer community can access the full array of device features and functions — hardware controls, touch screens, and the actual LCD display, pixel-by-pixel (imperative for reliable testing) — all conveniently accessible over the Internet. Once testing is completed, developers can then access DeviceAnywhere Monitoring allowing them to assure their contents' Quality of Service (QoS) through receiving alerts when an error or downtime is detected using DeviceAnywhere's detection and reporting platform.

"Now more than ever, mobile content and applications need to meet the highest standards of usability and reliability," said Faraz Syed, chief executive officer and co-founder of DeviceAnywhere. "As the nation's leading wireless provider, Verizon Wireless is smoothing the way for its developers to create the highest-quality content and applications designed to work across the whole spectrum of devices."

About the VDC
The Verizon Developer Community was launched to foster innovation in the mobile application space. Developers who have created apps for platforms such as Java, BREW, Android, Windows Mobile and others are encouraged to join the VDC and to submit their concepts and applications for V CAST Apps.

The developer portal now offers simple, click-through agreements so developers can quickly and easily start the path to market for their applications.

The VDC provides a streamlined testing and certification process for applications, with the goal of having applications approved within 14 days of submission, and gives developers the opportunity to set their own prices for applications. To register for the VDC, visit http://developer.verizon.com.

News and updates about the Verizon Developer Community will be posted on Twitter at www.twitter.com/VDCConference.
