NEW YORK, NY — (L- R) Jenny Ruiz, Columbia University sophomore and recipient of Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) support, joined HSF Regional Program Director Sylvia Pertzborn and Eduardo Urreta, of Verizon Wireless, at the Verizon Wireless Communications Store at 2818 Broadway last week to mark the culmination of an Hispanic Heritage Month partnership that netted $25,000 for the scholarship fund. HSF provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. With a diverse workforce of 85,000, Verizon Wireless continues to support a variety of educational programs and to drive workplace diversity by establishing programs to encourage the hiring and advancement of individuals of diverse backgrounds.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading Hispanic scholarship organization, providing the Hispanic community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. In its 34 year history, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded close to $280M in scholarships to more than 90,000 students in need.
