MANKATO, MN — Verizon Wireless announced today it has named Joseph Hall director—Customer Service for its Customer Service Center in Mankato, Minn. Hall is responsible for directing and managing the overall activities of this center, which currently houses 448 customer service employees (and 498 employees overall including network, IT and sales).

The company also announced it will hire 150-200 customer service representatives for the center over the next 12-15 months. Since taking over the facility in January 2009, Verizon Wireless has hired 257 employees for the center's customer service and technical support positions.

The center primarily provides customer support for the five-state Great Plains Region and also handles customer calls from the rest of the 15-state Midwest Area and nationally for questions on billing, price-plan changes, voice and data products and equipment. Hall will report to Christine Berberich, vice president—Midwest Area Customer Service.

"Joe's extensive experience, proven track record and strong focus on putting the customer first make him the right person to lead our new Customer Service Center," said Berberich. "Since September, Joe has led our integration team in Mankato, and he will provide continued leadership for us both at our center and within the Mankato community."

Hall joined Verizon Wireless in 1999 as a Financial Services representative and subsequently held supervisory positions in Customer Service and Quality Assurance at the company's Dublin, Ohio, Customer Service Center. In 2005 he was promoted to associate director—Customer Service and served for two months as the center's interim director prior to his assignment in Mankato.

Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Hall earned his bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., and a MBA from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

The Mankato call center is one of seven in the 15-state Midwest Area. Other call centers currently supporting the Midwest Area are located in Cranberry Woods, Pa.; Dublin, Ohio; Elgin, Ill.; Lincoln, Neb., Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Southfield, Mich.
