Verizon Wireless' Network Prepared To Rock For South By Southwest Fans

AUSTIN, TX — Whether they’re coming to enjoy music, films, new media or all three, South by Southwest attendees will have the full strength of the Verizon Wireless network at their fingertips. As tens of thousands of fans head to Austin, local technicians have expanded the capacity of the nation’s most reliable wireless network to ensure that Austin residents experience the same dependable service they’ve come to expect. At key cell sites near Sixth Street, Town Lake and throughout downtown Austin, Verizon Wireless has increased capacity to prepare for this year’s SXSW events. The company has also added a new cell site to boost coverage and capacity in and around the Convention Center. This concentrated effort in Austin is in addition to the more than $268 million Verizon Wireless invested last year in improving its network and coverage statewide.
