RALEIGH, NC — Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc., the U.S.-based mobile technology arm of Telit Communications (AIM: TCM), announced today that its CC864-DUAL, a CDMA-1XRTT dual-band cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communications module, is now certified for use with Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless service provider in the United States. Telit customers can now leverage the CC864-DUAL to launch smart, embedded cellular products on Verizon Wireless’ nationwide wireless network.

Telit’s CC864-DUAL module has earned full voice, data and GPS non-branded certification, which enables Telit module integrators to go through the Verizon Wireless Open Development program. Verizon Wireless’ Open Development program was specifically designed to streamline certification for M2M devices, speeding innovation of smart, connected devices and enabling a faster, more cost-effective market launch.

“Verizon Wireless is a leader in the connected device space and Telit is proud that our products are now certified for use on their network,” said Michael Ueland, Vice President and General Manager of Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc. “Our customers will now be able to benefit from Verizon Wireless’ strong network coverage. Additionally, Telit’s unique family form factor concept enables developers to design only once and deploy worldwide leveraging the three most prevalent cellular network technologies.”

“Now that Telit’s module has been certified for use, developers and OEMs in the M2M space have an additional option as they design their products,” said Tony Lewis, vice president, Open Development at Verizon Wireless. “Modules like Telit’s can help bring more connected devices to the Verizon Wireless network.”

The CC864-DUAL features the same form factor, function and AT command interface as its GSM/GPRS and UMTS/HSDPA counterparts, the GC864 and UC864 respectively. This unique family form factor concept enables integrators and OEMs to seamlessly swap Telit modules without costly redesigns and take advantage of the global coverage afforded by leveraging GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSDPA and CDMA-1xRTT network technologies for the same application.

Telit’s CC864-DUAL incorporates gpsOne® capability for GPS asset tracking applications in mobile environments. With its ultra-compact design and extended operating temperature range, the Telit CC864-DUAL is the ideal platform for high-volume embedded cellular applications and mobile data and computing devices. More information about Telit’s CC864-DUAL can be found at Telit.com.
