WARSAW, KY — Verizon Wireless has activated two new cell sites in Warsaw that improve voice and data coverage in northeast Gallatin County. Travelers will experience improved coverage along the following major roads:

  • U.S. Highway 42 from Knox Lillard Road east to the Gallatin-Boone County line;
  • and State Route 35 (Sparta Pike) from U.S. Highway 42 south to Lowe Road.

The new cell sites, which are each equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, allow more Verizon Wireless customers to rely on their wireless phones for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps and music, exchanging e-mail and text, picture and video messages, watching high-quality videos and making calls.

The company’s ongoing network investment in Kentucky now totals more than $307 million. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed – $5.7 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
