BASKING RIDGE, NJ — From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Motricity today announced Open Development Snacks, a suite of new content publishing tools that take advantage of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network. Open Development Snacks gives content providers the opportunity to supply highly personalized, on-demand content directly on Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web.

Motricity’s Open Development Snacks is an innovative mobile Web content publishing framework giving the content development community the ability to promote the discovery of its content on Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web. Through Open Snacks, developers publish video content and images, creating a rich mobile experience with enhanced video streaming capabilities. Open Development Snacks features advanced support for video streaming within Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web and enables the developer community to provide syndicated video feed services, optimized for Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE Mobile Broadband subscribers.

In addition, video content is optimized by device capability to guarantee an enhanced user experience, leveraging the increased throughput of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE technology, and offering high bit rate video without delays normally experienced on other networks.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company’s entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.
