WADESVILLE, IN — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Wadesville, Ind. that improves voice and data coverage in portions of Posey County.

Coverage is improved in the town of Wadesville and along the following major roads:

  • State Road 66 between Hunter Road and Winternheimer Road;
  • and State Road 165 between High School Road and State Road 66.

The new cell site, which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, enabled more Verizon Wireless customers to rely on their wireless phones for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps and music, exchanging e-mail and text, picture and video messages, watching high-quality videos and making calls.

The company's ongoing network investment in Indiana now totals more than $1.1 billion. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed — $5.7 billion on average every year — to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
