CYNTHIANA, KY — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Harrison County that improves voice and data coverage in Sunrise and Oddville and along the following major roads:

  • U.S. Route 62 between Beaver Baptist Road and State Road 539;
  • State Road 1504 between U.S. Route 62 on the west end of State Road 1504 and U.S. Route 62 on the east end of State Road 1504;
  • and State Road 19 between U.S. Route 62 and the Harrison-Bracken county line.

The new cell site, which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, enables more Verizon Wireless customers to rely on their wireless devices for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps and music, exchanging email and text, picture and video messages, watching high-quality videos and making calls.

The company's ongoing network investment in Kentucky now totals nearly $345 million. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion since it was formed-$6 billion on average every year-to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
