DENTON, TX — As part of Verizon Wireless' ongoing commitment to its customers, the company recently expanded its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Denton County, allowing customers to surf the Web, download files and share music and photos up to 10 times faster than before.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network initially launched last December in the Metroplex. Cities covered at that time were Allen, Arlington, Carrollton, Dallas, Frisco, Grapevine, Garland, Irving, Justin, Lewisville, Richardson, and Plano. With the activation of eight new 4G LTE cell sites in Denton County, Hickory Creek, Corinth, Shady Shores, Denton and Lake Dallas residents will have access to the nation’s most advanced 4G network.

“We’re excited that citizens, business and government officials in Denton County now have access to our 4G LTE network,” said region president Frank Antonacci. “The way people stay connected and communicate is ever changing; our 4G LTE network will meet the demands of our customers – both today and in the future.”

Residents in the Metroplex can choose from an array of devices that have already launched to access the blazingly fast speeds of the 4G LTE network, including:

  • The DROID Charge by Samsung
  • ThunderBolt™ by HTC
  • Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi® 4510L and the Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCH-LC11
  • Verizon Wireless 4G LTE USB Modem 551L
  • The LG VL600 4G LTE modem
  • Pantech’s UML290 USB modem

Verizon Wireless’ 700 MHz spectrum gives the company specific advantages with 4G, including improved in-building penetration and a contiguous network footprint. The company is building its 4G LTE network with the same commitment to performance and reliability for which it has long been recognized. Verizon Wireless’ laser focus on reliability is based on rigid engineering standards and a disciplined deployment approach year after year.
