KANSAS CITY, MO — Verizon Wireless, through the Verizon Foundation, has donated $5,000 to Hope House, a domestic violence prevention agency in Kansas City. The donation is in support of this year’s Hope & All That Jazz, an event to help raise money for domestic violence victims.

“Verizon Wireless is proud to be a sponsor at this year’s event to support domestic violence prevention in the Kansas City community,” said Brendan Fallis, president of the Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless. “Our company feels strongly about this cause, and we are committed to helping Hope House break the cycle of domestic violence.”

“Verizon’s generosity and commitment to this cause is very encouraging as we set out to make a difference in the community,” said Hope House CEO MaryAnne Metheny. “Domestic violence crosses all demographic boundaries, regardless of age, education, race or socioeconomic status. Our partnership with Verizon will allow us to continue to provide innovative programs and support to save lives in Kansas City.”

The Hope & All That Jazz event was held August 20 to support Hope House’s continued operation of safe shelter and essential support services. Net proceeds from the event help to sustain the agency programs for children and families, most of whom are low- to moderate-income.
