BELLEVUE, WA — Calling all future soccer superstars in Yakima and Tri-Cities! Verizon’s Youth Soccer Clinic is coming to Yakima on September 18th, as part of a series of soccer-filled weekends including tournaments and open tryouts for aspiring professional players throughout the western U.S.

The sixth annual youth soccer clinics are scheduled to take place in cities across the United States from April through October and are expected to draw nearly 6,000 youth participants nationwide. Fútbol legends scheduled to participate include Ramon Ramirez, Luis “El Matador” Hernandez, Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama and Jorge “El Brody” Campos.

“We know there are a large number of soccer fans in Yakima and Tri-Cities areas and we’re excited to get out into the soccer fields and give back to the community,” said Bobby Morrison, region president for Verizon Wireless. “These soccer-filled weekends can help empower young fans to be active and follow their dreams, and we’re thrilled to help make that happen.”

Registration for the youth soccer clinics will take place Saturday, September 3rd from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Verizon Wireless Columbia Center Mall store in Kennewick and Sunday, September 4th from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Verizon Wireless store at 2401 S. 1st Street, on the west side of the Yakima Valley Mall. Registration is free and open to youth ages five to 17 years old. At each clinic, participants will practice soccer drills and learn from the professional players. Clinic participants will receive a Verizon soccer jersey, soccer ball and sack pack. Registration is required for participation in the clinics.
