Verizon Wireless Donates $5,000 To Inner City Youth Tutoring, Inc in Missouri

ST. LOUIS, MO — Verizon Wireless announced today a $5,000 Verizon Foundation grant that will go to Inner City Youth Tutoring, Inc. The grant will help the non-profit organization purchase computers, wireless cards, additional tutors and more to help children in need improve academically.

“Verizon Wireless is honored to work with Inner City Youth Tutoring, Inc. as they strive to provide supplemental academic services to children in low income neighborhoods,” said Brendan Fallis, president of the Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless. “Providing resources to support underserved children’s success in the classroom is a cause we are committed to help. We see incredible added value for the community as a result of Inner City Youth Tutoring, Inc. using this grant to help build lasting confidence for young people.”

Inner City Youth Tutoring, Inc. is an independent nonprofit tutorial agency located in the inner city of St. Louis, Mo., specializing in individualized private tutoring for under-privileged at-risk youth. The organization has been serving inner city youth and their parents since July 2007 and has continued to grow; now serving hundreds of children striving to improve academically.

This special organization believes that all children deserve the best educational experience and chance to excel academically, regardless of ability to pay; Verizon Wireless agrees. The confidence gained from improved grades sticks with a child for life and leads to continued success outside of the classroom.

To improve the academic performance of individuals in the public and private educational sectors by tailoring to their needs and utilizing their already present knowledge base. To equip individuals with the necessary tools and strategies to manifest this knowledge, while enhancing one's learning through one-on-one instruction.
