‘Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house, old phones, games and electronics were as quiet as a mouse.

Chances are you or one of your family members received a new wireless device for the holidays. The holiday gift-giving season means new products, but what happens to the old ones? Instead of throwing away your old devices, why not make a difference by putting them in the hands of someone who needs them?

HopeLine® from Verizon offers a way for consumers to continue the spirit of giving beyond the holiday season. By donating your no-longer-used phones, batteries and accessories to the program, you can make a difference in the life of a domestic violence victim. HopeLine collects donated phones and phone accessories and distributes them to participating domestic violence agencies and organizations nationwide. These phones are then provided to victims and survivors as they rebuild their lives; phones that cannot be reused are recycled properly, and charitable donations in the form of grants are provided to organizations that help victims of domestic violence.

Thanks to the donations received over the past ten years, since the launch of the recycling program, Verizon Wireless has collected more than 8 million phones, awarded more than $10 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations across the country and distributed more than 106,000 phones with more than 319 million minutes of free wireless service to be used by victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Join those who have already donated and start the new year by giving back! For more information on the HopeLine program and to find out how you can donate your devices, visit www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.
