LAS VEGAS, NV, and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless is putting innovation on display at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), with technology and product demonstrations featuring partners in the 4G LTE ecosystem. Many of the new solutions, applications and services are the result of collaborations fostered through Verizon’s Innovation Program.

“Verizon’s Innovation Program, along with a host of our participant companies, are making real the possibilities of 4G LTE, with products and technology that put the speed and power of our 4G LTE network into real-world, everyday solutions,” said Brian Higgins, vice president, product development at Verizon Wireless. “At this year’s CES, we’re offering a glimpse of how Verizon’s 4G LTE network is the foundation for innovation and creates opportunities for businesses and consumers to change the way they use wireless.”

Multiple vignettes showcasing how Verizon’s 4G LTE network creates opportunities and drives new ways of thinking for companies and their customers in areas, including retail, energy/utility, transportation, health and wellness, and public safety, populate the booth. Consumer applications, from next-generation gaming to multi-screen entertainment to educational services, among others, make up the Consumer and Apps Zones of the stand, showing how 4G LTE changes the way consumers interact with their wireless devices and with each other.

An Evolution Store featuring a selection of 4G LTE smartphones and tablets from Verizon Wireless’ portfolio completes the display.

Verizon established its Innovation Program to encourage collaboration and help advance the 4G LTE ecosystem. The company’s LTE Innovation Center in Waltham, Mass., and its Application Innovation Center in San Francisco were created to inspire, enable and develop non-traditional devices, services and applications that take advantage of Verizon Wireless’ industry-leading wireless networks. Through the Innovation Program, Verizon seeks to expand the possibilities of 4G LTE by working with diverse companies, from start-ups to established players, in industries representing a broad range of verticals.

Launched in December 2010, Verizon’s 4G LTE network is now available in 190 markets covering more than 200 million people in the United States.

The Verizon booth is located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Booth #30259. For more information about Verizon at CES, visit www.verizonwireless.com/ces or follow Verizon Wireless news on Twitter at @VZWnews.
