LAS VEGAS, NV, and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — From the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Verizon Wireless and CradlePoint announced their combined solutions are creating network connectivity for solution providers and demonstrations in the Verizon booth (Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Booth #30259).

Solution providers serving industries ranging from healthcare to entertainment to security to retail have chosen CradlePoint routing solutions powered by Verizon Wireless to connect to the Internet for demonstrations at CES. CradlePoint provides access to the Verizon 4G LTE network through CradlePoint routers and adapters that use Verizon Wireless external USB data modems or CradlePoint’s new integrated business-grade mobile broadband. Whether solution providers are powering one application or several, one CradlePoint router can be partitioned to connect devices and applications like VoIP phones; digital signage or kiosks; wireless video surveillance cameras; employee laptops and mobile devices; gaming systems; and public Wi-Fi each on a separate network to ensure secure operation. The exclusive use of CradlePoint network solutions in the Verizon booth speaks to the versatility and reliability of CradlePoint products and the speed and power of Verizon 4G LTE.

Healthsense, a market leader in remote monitoring solutions for older adults, will be demonstrating in the Verizon booth using CradlePoint devices to connect to the Internet. Remote monitoring, emergency response and nurse call systems are among the solutions that Healthsense provides to senior living communities and caregivers. Each requires a steady, reliable and secure connection at all times.

“CradlePoint solutions are a key component of keeping these systems online and accessible during one of the most critical times in someone’s life,” notes Bryan Fuhr, Healthsense co-founder and vice president of Marketing and Business Development. “At Healthsense, we believe in lowering the cost of care, increasing independence and improving the experiences of older adults, families and caregivers. We take pride in providing technology systems that enable people to live independently as long as possible.”

Ken Hosac, vice president of Business Development at CradlePoint, said, “Regardless of industry or user type, whether you’re a large distributed enterprise, a start-up, or have a need for machine-to-machine (M2M) network solutions, CradlePoint devices, combined with Verizon’s 4G LTE network, will connect you to the Internet with the speed and reliability you need for your applications.”

Verizon Wireless leads the way in 4G with the largest 4G LTE network and most reliable 4G network in the United States, which now covers more than 200 million people in 190 markets.

Verizon established its Innovation Program to encourage collaboration and help advance the 4G LTE ecosystem. The company’s LTE Innovation Center in Waltham, Mass., and its Application Innovation Center in San Francisco were created to inspire, enable and develop non-traditional devices, services and applications that take advantage of Verizon Wireless’ industry-leading wireless networks. Through the Innovation Program, Verizon seeks to expand the possibilities of 4G LTE by working with diverse companies, from start-ups to established players, in industries representing a broad range of verticals.

In order to ensure the highest level of performance and reliability, CradlePoint has performed extensive testing within the Verizon LTE Innovation Center. CradlePoint’s routers using integrated business-grade modems successfully reached download speeds of 40 megabits per second (Mbps). This represents nearly 10 times the average download speed of a cable modem and 30-50 times the average speed of a 3G/EV-DO modem. This integrated CradlePoint solution will be demonstrated live in the Verizon booth at CES.
