LAS VEGAS, NV, and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — From the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Verizon Wireless and Taoglas (www.taoglas.com) will showcase the Taoglas PA.700.A Viking LTE antenna in the Verizon booth (Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Booth #30259). Taoglas’ LTE antenna will be featured in two remote-presence solutions: VGo’s all-in-one robotic telepresence solution and also InTouch Health’s monitors and tablets for remote-presence telemedicine. Taoglas is a Verizon LTE Innovation Center participant, providing antenna and RF testing and design expertise to Verizon’s machine-to-machine (M2M) LTE device manufacturers.

VGo is a robotic productivity improvement solution that enables a person to be present at a distant location without physically being there and includes the ability to move about the distant location. VGo chose the PA.700.A Viking antenna for its superior LTE performance, an average 65 percent efficiency, its small form factor, PCB surface mounting and multi-band global cellular coverage.

Dermot O’Shea, joint managing director for Taoglas, said, “Taoglas was selected by Verizon to be an LTE Innovation Center participant because of our understanding and extensive experience delivering 2G and 3G M2M antenna solutions successfully to Verizon customers over the years. We already have an LTE antenna solution approved and in use in two M2M products. It is encouraging to see Verizon’s fast-paced and innovative center that is realizing the great potential for 4G LTE in the M2M market.”

Verizon Wireless leads the way in 4G with the largest 4G LTE network and most reliable 4G network in the United States, which now covers more than 200 million people in 190 markets.

Verizon established its Innovation Program to encourage collaboration and help advance the 4G LTE ecosystem. The company’s LTE Innovation Center in Waltham, Mass., and its Application Innovation Center in San Francisco were created to inspire, enable and develop non-traditional devices, services and applications that take advantage of Verizon Wireless’ industry-leading wireless networks. Through the Innovation Program, Verizon seeks to expand the possibilities of 4G LTE by working with diverse companies, from start-ups to established players, in industries representing a broad range of verticals.
