The Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Santa Maria, California has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR®, the national symbol for superior energy efficiency and environmental protection. The Santa Maria store is the 100 th Verizon Wireless retail store to receive the ENERGY STAR® certification, the most of any wireless retailer.
Representatives from Verizon Wireless, , and PG&E will be on hand to celebrate the 100th ENERGY STAR® recognition and giving away item to customers.
Customers stopping by the store are also encouraged to bring old phones and accessories through HopeLine®. Verizon Wireless helps the environment and survivors of domestic violence through its HopeLine® program by collecting no-longer-used wireless phones and equipment from any wireless service provider. Since October of 2001, when Verizon Wireless launched its national recycling program, 1.72 million phones have been properly disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
