ORLANDO, FL — The rapid deployment of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE services, the nation’s fastest 4G wireless network, continues across Florida as the advanced technology expands later this month to new communities in Naples, Orlando and throughout Central Florida.

With this month’s 4G LTE expansions, Verizon’s most advanced services now cover all of Florida’s major markets and 90 percent of state residents.  The technology was introduced just over 18 months ago, but already is available to nearly three-fourths of the U.S. population in more than 350 markets.

The new expansion will include new coverage in Orange, Seminole, Lake and Collier counties.  Customers in Florida’s largest markets have had access to the technology since it was first introduced in December 2010.

“We’ve rolled out 4G LTE quickly to serve our customers with the most advanced wireless technology and to remain far ahead of our competitors,” said Frank Wise, network executive director for the Verizon Wireless Florida region.  “Tech-savvy Floridians are demanding and are putting to great use the speed and power of 4G LTE.”

The new technology is up to 10 times faster than the company’s industry-leading 3G network. In real-world, fully loaded network environments, 4G LTE users should experience data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.

The 4G LTE network allows streaming videos with no buffering, or downloading and viewing full-length HD movies.  Music lovers can download songs in seconds, gamers can take part in multiplayer online action, and social media types upload photos and posts while on-the-go.  Business owners use the efficiency and speed of the 4G LTE network to boost their bottom line.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network has earned top ratings by numerous independent consumer reporting organizations such as the “Fastest Mobile Network 2012” by PC Magazine, the “Fastest 4G Network Yet” by Popular Science’s 2011 Best of What’s New Awards, and was ranked No. 1 on PC World’s 100 Best Products of 2011.

Verizon Wireless also gives its customers the largest selection of 4G LTE devices offered by any wireless provider. Devices range from tablets and mobile hotspots to the latest smartphones and more, including the Samsung Galaxy S® III and the DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE by HTC.
