Great ideas can come from anywhere. Verizon established its Innovation Program to encourage and nurture those ideas.
Over the past few years, the Verizon Innovation Program has evolved to include more than 120 participants and has delivered many exciting solutions to the marketplace, including a robot that lets doctors monitor patients from across the country, a connected smart meter that is making changes in the energy and smart grid industries, and an intelligent vending machine that can actually communicate. Nearly 20 products, ranging from 4G LTE-enabled jukeboxes to the in-home high-speed Internet solution HomeFusion Broadband, are now available.
At the heart of the program are two Innovation Centers: one in San Francisco, Calif., and one in Waltham, Mass., which celebrated its first birthday this past summer. Within these state-of-the-art locations, Verizon works side-by-side with entrepreneurs, technology companies, software developers and product design firms to develop breakthrough non-traditional wireless devices, services and apps that take full advantage of the 4G LTE network.
Partners in the program range from healthcare IT companies to video game developers – all looking to make advances in their fields using wireless technology. Together with its participants, the Verizon Innovation Program is changing the way we live, work, play and experience 4G LTE technology.
