Technology that used to be just for large enterprises is making its way to the small office and home office environments, and in many cases, is being used for connectivity at home.

Arcadyan’s all-in-one LTE Multiservice Gateway is a home gateway for IMS-based and fixed mobile broadband applications. With potential throughput rates of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 50 Mbps on the uplink and a remote connection feature, the device is a perfect solution for residential and small and home office users.

The gateway’s high-speed bandwidth allows users to enjoy multiple services, like secure home networking and multimedia applications, over Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the exact same environment that a fixed-line broadband network would provide. Voice capabilities can be added to the device in the future. Mobile operators can use the device’s high bandwidth capabilities to deliver a variety of value-added services, such as multi-channel video streaming and broadband Internet access.

The LTE Multiservice Gateway supports four Ethernet ports with auto MDIX capabilities and QoS, VLAN and more to support a number of different service requirements, including video streaming and real time gaming. The device also provides Wi-Fi 802.11n connectivity, allowing it to support a complete connected home ecosystem.

Working in collaboration with the Verizon Innovation Program, this LTE gateway was developed by Altair, Arcadyan, Ecrio and Lantiq. The product features the following components:

  • Altair’s Verizon Wireless-certified FourGee LTE modem chipset and LTE software stack, which is used for the Verizon network connectivity component of the gateway solution.
  • Ecrio’s Verizon Wireless-certified embedded FlexIMS Mobile Communications Client Suite (MCCS) for 4G LTE, facilitating the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-enabled device software as well as value-added service functions for integration into the LTE Gateway.
  • Lantiq’s gateway chipset, consisting of the XWAY GRX388 as the main CPE network processor with integrated Wi-Fi MAC and Baseband, the Wi-Fi RF chip XWAY WRX312 and the Smart SLIC. In addition, Lantiq also has provided its Universal Gateway software suite (UGW).
