Spring is coming, and homes and closets are being cleared out in preparation this season. Don’t stop there, though; your smartphone could also use a little facelift.
Take a few minutes to reorganize your device with these simple steps for spring cleaning your smartphone.
Step 1: Make sure to backup all of your contacts, photos, music and apps and save that content in the cloud using a service such as Backup Assistant Plus, so even if your device is lost or damaged, you can still recover your information.
Step 2: Get rid of the clutter. Now that you have saved everything, go ahead and remove any unused apps, outdated music and old photos to free up storage space on your phone. Go through your contacts and weed out anyone you don’t need to keep in your phone on a regular basis. Also, don’t forget to close out apps when they aren’t in use to maintain and extend battery life.
Step 3: Regularly check for any software and app updates, which can help your phone run smoother and more efficiently.
Step 4: Finally, set monthly reminders to yourself to repeat this process to keep your phone running its best year-round.
These simple tips will not only help you stay more organized, but will also make your phone run optimally, improve battery life and even help with data usage.
