Crescent City natives and world travelers have been boogying down at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for 43 years. With 12 stages, eight food areas and three craft areas, Jazz Fest can be overwhelming for even the most seasoned festival goer. Last year, Verizon Wireless invested more than $109 million in New Orleans and south Louisiana to strengthen and enhance its network, so wireless devices can help you maximize the fun at this year’s event, which runs from April 26 – May 5 at the New Orleans Fairgrounds.

A must have is the official New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival app, allowing you to read about the bands and local cuisine, and create a schedule of must-see acts. If you and your friends are having trouble deciding between Fleetwood Mac and Frank Ocean, check out different shows and then meet back up with ease with Find My Friends. Or use Glympse to share your location with friends or post it on Facebook in real time. And, to make sure you do get home, don’t forget to drop a pin in your map application to mark where you parked your car.

Jazz Fest is fertile ground for new artists and a great place for discovering amazing new music. Make sure to have Shazam to find out the details—or even download—a new favorite tune.

After a full day filled with good music and New Orleans cuisine, join the post-festival night scene, which is always rocking during the Fest. For a music calendar, show listings and recommendations on venues and restaurants in the city, check out Off Beat Magazine’s app. Visitors should also reference the city’s official guide app, Go NOLA, for the best things to do and places to go, including a celebrity narrated walking tour.

For those who can’t make it to the fest, don’t despair. Local radio station WWOZ 90.7 FM broadcasts live from the Fairgrounds, and you can get your NOLA fix on their WWOZ app

Now if only there was an app to deliver New Orleans’ famous Cochon de Lait po’boys.
