November 11 is Veterans Day, a day to commemorate and celebrate American military veterans for their service. Mobile technology provides ways to learn about the day and honor the nation’s service members, both past and present.

To learn more about the holiday’s history, check out the Veterans Day app, which offers an interactive history lesson loaded with articles, videos and photos.

You can also show your appreciation with the Veterans Photo Effects app. Personalize and embellish photo projects with short messages and an array of patriotic stickers to share via email and social sites, including Facebook.

Check out the community celebrations happening near you. Many events are planned at historical locations, and, as you reflect on the men and women who have served the United States, use your smartphone or tablet to learn more about specific wars. Apps like the Revolutionary War Site Locator will guide your visit with an interactive map that pinpoints iconic sites from the American Revolutionary War. The Civil War Today, on the other hand, provides daily, real-time updates that mirror the four-year timeline of events from more than 150 years ago.

Happy Veterans Day, and thank you to all the brave men and women who have served.
