Brianne Manz, founder of Stroller in the City and regular contributor to MomTrends, is a mom of three who understands the benefits of using technology to manage family life. While blogging daily about city living, kids, fashion and all things mommy, she is also running around town with her kids, so it’s essential for her to stay connected when in transit.

“I basically use my mobile device for everything,” she said. “The only time I am able to sit in front of my computer is at night while working on my blog. Everything else, from booking appointments (hello, Drybar) to corresponding with my children’s teachers on email, is all done on my mobile device.”

For moms who snap hundreds of pictures of their growing kids, Manz recommends PicTapGo, a “phonetography” app that helps improve the quality of pictures taken with iOS7, as well as photo-editing app Afterlight to add a creative flair to family memories.

Mobile apps can also be a lifesaver for traveling with kids. Manz’s family never hits the road without two iPods full of games and movies.

“My children love to play Minecraft, Toca Hair Salon, Hungry Shark and Doodle Buddy and watch movies on Netflix,” she said.

Beyond downloading apps for themselves and the kids, Manz suggests that new moms adjusting to family life invest in a phone charger pack. Between doctor appointments, family visits and tending to the day-to-day care for a little one, keeping a device connected to a wall outlet isn’t always possible. Wireless chargers like the Mophie Juice Pack Powerstation Mini allow moms to carry a little extra power so they can plug in – wall-free. Moms can also wrap their phones in the Mophie Juice Pack Air, a form-fitted case that almost doubles battery life because it also functions as a rechargeable external battery.

For moms who are constantly on the go and juggling family and career, utilizing mobile technology can make all the difference in the world. To check out more of Manz’s advice on how to manage mommyhood, visit her Stroller in the City blog.
