By 2020, 50 billion devices – from vehicles to appliances to industrial instruments – are expected to be connected worldwide. Machine-to-machine (M2M) technology is paving the way for these connections and changing the way businesses in virtually every industry operate.
Through technology and design, Holland, Mich.-based Twisthink, a Verizon Wireless customer, takes on the challenge of seeking M2M solutions that are not currently available on the market in order to meet the needs of their customers. From initial idea generation to prototype development to testing on the Verizon Wireless network, Twisthink creates innovative solutions that save companies time and money. For example, by developing a technology that allows forklift operators to remotely advance a rider pallet lift truck through a glove with a built-in transmitter, Twisthink helped one material-handling equipment company reduce an operator’s footsteps by 70 percent a day, ultimately saving labor time and costs.
