Unboxing a new phone is a thrill, yet transferring data from your previous device can be a chore. Motorola simplifies moving into their line-up via the Motorola Migrate app. Here’s how it works:

  1. Install and open Motorola Migrate on both your new phone and your old phone
  2. On your new phone, select your old phone type (Android, iOS, other) from the drop menu
  3. Choose which items to transfer (contacts, messages, etc.) and then follow the instructions to pair your devices
  4. Begin the transfer and you’re set

Motorola Migrate can even import data from basic phones over Bluetooth (see compatibility list).

New phone not a “Moto?” Don’t feel left out — similar phone transfer apps such as Samsung Smart Switch Mobile and Copy My Data can help you move files between other brands’ devices, too.
