Technology often surprises people. Sometimes, it’ll even surprise you with a free lunch. Today, as part of our weekly #WhyNotWednesday social media program, we’re buying lunch for thousands of people who tweet a food emoji with the #WhyNotWednesday hashtag. Why? Why Not!
Here’s how it works. We’re partnering with @gofooji to showcase what’s possible when combining the power of the digital and real worlds. Customers in the New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Washington, D.C., Denver, and Houston markets can sign up for fooji and then tweet a hamburger emoji (or corn emoji if you’re a vegetarian) using the hashtag #WhyNotWednesday.
Customers as fast as the Verizon network who are one of the first 250 people in their city to tweet will have a burger lunch delivered to them for free. After all free meals have been claimed, we’ll give 20 percent off orders in all 10 cities for the rest of the day.
Verizon’s network enables the amazing power of the digital world where anything is possible. Through #WhyNotWednesday, we’re delivering weekly amazing and unexpected experiences to customers that can only be accessed through the network. So far we’ve had something for everyone:
- Pop culture fans went behind the scenes of the MTV VMAs via Periscope.
- Sports fans have access to live-streaming NFL games through NFL Mobile.
- Fashion buffs got insider access to New York Fashion Week.
- Music fans got a virtual concert from Echosmith ahead of the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Follow @Verizon on Twitter and look for the hashtag #WhyNotWednesday every Wednesday to see that week’s exclusive digital experience.
