Jelly Bean (Android 4.3/4.2/4.1 release) is all about speed and simplicity. Its updated user interface is faster, smarter and more responsive. Jelly Bean comes with a new enhanced search function, more powerful sharing with Android Beam, a completely new camera experience and much more.
The steps to find the current OS version varies by device. Below are general instructions that work for most Android devices. For detailed instructions about a specific device, please check the user guide.
To check your current Android OS version:
- Open your device's Settings
- Tap the About Phone or About Device option.
- Tap Android Version to display your version information.
Share instantly with the updated Android Beam — pictures, contacts, directions — you name it. Hold two Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled Android devices close to each other and share from screen to screen.
Note: While this feature isn’t available on all Android devices, it will be included on future devices. NFC is an emerging technology with more uses developing every day.
With Jelly Bean (Android 4.2 & 4.3 releases), you can capture a 360-degree image, or photo sphere, from your camera app and share it with others. View photo spheres on your device, share them on Google+™ or even add them to Google Maps™.
Use the new enhanced Google Search for quick answers on the go. Search the web with your voice, and Google Search speaks back to you with relevant answers when they’re available, in addition to its highly ranked results powered by the Google Knowledge Graph.
