How to change your plan

Find out how to switch to our newest plan or upgrade your current plan by increasing your data, voice or messaging allowance.

Switch to the new Verizon Plan

    Online

    To switch to the new Verizon Plan online:

    1. Go to the Change Your Plan page in My Verizon on your smartphone, tablet or computer web browser.
    2. Click Select in the Switch to the new Verizon Plan section.
    3. Select the plan size you want. Make sure to pick a size with enough data to share between all devices on your account, or mix and match unlimited plans.
      Note: A default plan size will be selected for you based on the number of devices on your account and the average data usage of Verizon customers. However, your actual data usage may be more or less than average. If you aren't sure how much data you typically use each month, go to the Account Analysis page to see your past usage and get a recommendation for a plan that better fits your needs.
    4. Click Continue.
    5. Follow the onscreen prompts to review your changes and confirm your plan change.
      Note: When reviewing your changes, you may have the option to choose when you want the changes to take effect. To select a different date than the one recommended, click Change Effective Date?, select a new date and click Confirm.

    You've successfully switched to the new Verizon Plan. If you chose to switch your plan at the next bill date, your plan will become active on that date.

    My Verizon app

    To switch to the new Verizon Plan with the My Verizon app:

    1. Open the menu and tap Account.
    2. Tap My Plan.
    3. Tap Explore sizes.
    4. Swipe through the different sizes to see the features and monthly charge. Tap Continue below the size you want.
    5. Select when you want the new plan to kick in.
    6. Review the details and tap Confirm.

    You've successfully changed your plan.

Change Your Plan Allowance

    Follow these steps to add more data or increase your voice and messaging allowance. Depending on your plan you may be limited to adding data if your voice and messages are unlimited.

    My Verizon app

    If you have the new Verizon Plan you can change your plan size with the My Verizon app. If you're on an older plan you can change it online with your mobile browser or computer.

    To change your current plan in the My Verizon app:

    1. Open the menu and tap Account.
    2. Tap My Plan.
    3. Tap Explore sizes.
    4. Below the plan size you want, tap Continue.
    5. Select when you want the plan change to kick in.
    6. Review the details and tap Confirm.
    Online

    To change your current plan online:

    1. Go to the Change Your Plan page in My Verizon on your smartphone, tablet or computer web browser.
    2. Tap or click the Select button for the option to change your current plan.
    3. Choose the amount of data allowance you want.

      Note: If you have more than one device on your account and the allowance isn't shared between the devices, you'll see separate dropdowns for each device.
    4. Tap or click Continue to the Next Step.

      Note: You may have the option to choose when you want the changes to take effect. You can choose to backdate the change or schedule the plan change for your next bill date. When you choose the next bill date, your new plan will take effect on the first day of your next bill cycle.
    5. Review your changes and click Confirm.

    You've successfully changed your minutes, messages or data allowance.

    Note: If you have The Verizon Plan, you need to switch to the new Verizon Plan if you want to change your data allowance.
