Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • A Miracast-enabled HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter may be required to view your smartphone's screen via an external display. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note Follow these steps to view your entire screen contents on your TV.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. From the WIRELESS NETWORKS section, tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap Miracast.
  5. Tap the Miracast switch to turn on Switch on.
  6. Tap the appropriate TV or Miracast dongle.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. From the WIRELESS NETWORKS section, tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu (lower-right).
  5. Tap Use DLNA feature.
  6. If presented, tap Library (upper-left).
  7. Tap the appropriate library.
  8. Tap Player (upper-right).
  9. Tap the appropriate player.
  10. Locate then tap the file to be played.

Share with a PC Using the SmartShare App

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon .
  3. From the WIRELESS NETWORKS section, tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap or slide the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. From the WIRELESS NETWORKS section, tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu (lower-right).
  5. Tap Use DLNA feature.
  6. Tap Menu.
  7. Tap Settings.
  8. Tap Contents share to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
  9. Tap Shared contents.
  10. Choose any of the following then tap OK:
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  11. Tap Receive files to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
  12. With Contents share disabled, tap Sharing requests.
  13. Choose an option:
    • Always accept
    • Always ask
    • Always deny
