Factory Data Reset (Powered Off) - Samsung Galaxy™ Stratosphere™ II

A factory data reset may help with a blank or frozen screen, apps crashing or freezing, keypad/touchscreen problems, can't hear, device making noises, can't make or receive calls, and device won't sync.

Caution Perform a factory data reset only if absolutely necessary as it removes all data including:

  • Google™ account
  • System and app data
  • App settings
  • Downloaded apps
  • Media (Music, pictures and videos, etc.)

 

Note Notes:

 

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
    Note If screen is frozen, remove/reinsert battery.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the Power button (located on the upper-right edge) + Volume Up button (top button located on the upper-right edge) until RECOVERY BOOTING appears in the upper left then release.
  3. From the Android system recovery screen, select wipe data/factory reset.
    Note Utilize the Volume Up/Down buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
  4. Select Yes -- delete all user data.
    Note Allow several seconds for the factory data reset to complete.
  5. Select reboot system now.
    Note Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.
    Note If applicable, set up your device.
