Enable / Disable App - Samsung Galaxy Tab® 4 (8.0)

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:Apps icon Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Device section, tap Application manager.
  3. From the TURNED OFF tab, tap an app.
    Note If necessary, swipe left or right to change tabs.
  4. Tap Turned off (located on the right).
  5. Tap ENABLE.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Device section, tap Application manager.
  3. From the ALL tab, tap an app.
    Note If necessary, swipe left or right to change tabs.
  4. Tap FORCE STOP.
  5. Tap OK.
