To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and restrictions, view this info.

Caution Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, refer to the My Verizon website.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Wireless & networks section, tap Data Usage.
  3. From the "Data usage cycle" field, tap the Dropdown menu Dropdown menu icon.
  4. Tap Change cycle.
  5. Select the appropriate date then tap SET.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

Set Mobile Data Warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the black warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Wireless & networks section, tap Data Usage.
  3. Tap the Alert me about data usage switch to turn on Switch on indicator or off Switch off indicator.
  4. From the "Your phone will alert you when your mobile data usage reaches the warning amount you set below" prompt, tap OK.
  5. Touch and hold the black dot (located to the right of the warning line).
  6. Drag the black warning line to the desired level (e.g., 1.8GB) then release.

Set Mobile Data Limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependant upon a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, Google Play, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Wireless & networks section, tap Data Usage.
  3. Tap the Limit mobile data usage switch to turn on Switch on indicator or off Switch off indicator.
  4. From the "Your mobile data connection will be disabled when the specified limit is reached" prompt, tap OK.
  5. Tap and hold the red dot (located to the right of the limit line).
  6. Drag the red limit line to the desired level (e.g., 2.0GB) then release.

View Data Usage by App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Wireless & networks section, tap Data Usage.
  3. Tap an app (below the usage graph).
  4. View the usage info.

Restrict Data Usage by App

Note Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
  2. From the Wireless & networks section, tap Data Usage.
  3. Tap an app (located below the usage graph).
  4. Tap the Restrict background data switch (located at the bottom; may require scrolling) to turn on Switch on indicator or off Switch off indicator.
  5. From the "This feature may cause an app..." prompt, tap OK.
