A factory data reset may help with a blank or frozen screen, apps crashing or freezing, keypad/touchscreen problems, can't hear, device making noises, can't make or receive calls, and device won't sync.
Perform a factory data reset only if absolutely necessary as it removes all data including:
-
Google™ account
-
System and app data
-
App settings
-
Downloaded apps
-
Media (It is recommended to backup this data)
Alternatively, music, pictures and videos can be backed up to a computer.
Notes:
-
From the Home screen, navigate: Apps icon
> Settings.
-
From the Personal section, tap Back up and reset.
-
Tap Factory data reset.
-
Tap RESET TABLET (located on the bottom-right).
If presented, enter the current PIN, passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
-
Tap ERASE EVERYTHING (located on the bottom-right).
Allow several minutes for the factory data reset and reboot processes to complete.
If applicable, set up your device.
