Set Up Screen Lock - Samsung Galaxy Note II

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options (e.g., face unlock, pattern, PIN) may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (located in the lower-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. From the Personal section, tap Lock screen.
  4. Tap Screen lock.
    Note If presented with This device does not have a Google® account associated with it. If you forget your PIN, it cannot be sent to you and a factory reset will have to be performed to recover the device., select Add Google account now to setup the account before proceeding. To proceed without setting up a Google account, tap Continue.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN/password/pattern.
  5. Tap one of the following:
    Swipe
    Face unlock (start with step 3)
    Face and voice (start with step 3)
    Pattern
    PIN
    Password
    None

 

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap Next.
  2. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least four dots) then tap Continue.
  3. Re-draw the pattern then tap Confirm.
  4. If presented, tap OK.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4-16 digits) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  3. If presented, tap OK.

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4-16 characters) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
