Add a Virtual Private Network - Sony Xperia® Z2 Tablet
A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).
From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon > Settings.
From the Wireless & networks section, tap More.
If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
Refer to Set Up Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN or Password only) for assistance.
Tap the Add icon (upper-right).
From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.
From the Type field, tap the Dropdown menu ( right) then select the VPN type:
Tap the appropriate VPN type:
pre-shared key (IKEv1)
pre-shared key (IKEv2)
EAP and certificate (IKEv2)
L2TP pre-shared key (IKEv1)
L2TP certificate (IKEv1)
Enter the required information into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
If applicable, tap (check) Show advanced options to configure the following:
