Samsung Galaxy Note® 4 - Reset App

If your device crashes, resets itself or freezes, it may be caused by apps and this info may help.

Note Personal data such as browser bookmarks and other customized settings can be backed up to and restored from Google servers.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Applications (Device section).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Application manager.
  3. Locate then tap the appropriate app.
    Note If system apps aren't visible, navigate: Menu icon Menu (located in the upper-right) > Show system apps then tap the appropriate app.
  4. Tap Force Stop.
  5. When prompted with "Force stop?", tap FORCE STOP.
  6. Tap Storage.
  7. Tap Clear data.
    Note This option may not be available for some apps.
    Note Resetting an app or clearing data storage may delete saved info within the app (e.g., calendar events may be lost).
  8. When prompted with "Delete app data?", tap OK.
    Note This deletes data stored in app.
