Samsung Galaxy Note® 4 - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using non-overlapping channels (i.e., 1, 6, or 11).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. From the Wireless and networks section, tap More networks.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Configure Hotspot.
  6. Tap Show advanced options
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
  7. Tap the appropriate Broadcast channel:

    • 2.4 GHz
    • 5 GHz
  8. Tap the 'Channel' Dropdown menu Drop down menu icon (located below the Broadcast channel section) then select an alternate channel (e.g., Auto, 1 - 11).
    Note Auto (default setting) is recommended.
  9. Tap Save (lower-right).
