  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance. 

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note Follow these steps to view your entire screen contents on your TV.

  1. From a Home screen (on your device), tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Xperia™ Connectivity.
  4. Tap Screen mirroring.
  5. Tap Start then tap OK to search for devices.
  6. Tap the device name to connect.
  7. When connected, the device's screen is displayed on the TV.

Share Your Screen From an App

  1. On the TV or tablet, follow the manufacturer's instructions to activate Screen casting.
    Note If using a Chromecast™, follow the manufacturer's instructions to activate the device.
  2. From a Home screen (on your device), tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap XperiaConnectivity.
  5. Tap Cast screen.
  6. Tap the device name to connect.
    Note When connected, the device's screen is displayed on the TV.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap File Commander.
  3. Navigate to the appropriate media file (e.g., Pictures, Music, etc.).
  4. Tap the Share icon Share icon.
  5. Tap DLNA.
  6. Tap the appropriate device.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Xperia Connectivity.
  2. Tap Media server settings.
  3. Tap the Share media switch to turn on Apps icon or off Switch Off icon.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu Key (located in the upper-right).
  5. Tap Shared media.
  6. Select any of the following then tap OK:
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  7. Tap Upload to Xperia to turn on or off.
